It is important for every teacher to have their own philosophy of teaching.

Teachers are involved in a profession that is challenging, yet rewarding. Nearly every teacher has some personal and deeper reason of why they have taken on the challenge of teaching. It is this philosophy of teaching that drives them to be the best and most effective teacher they can be. My teaching philosophy is derived from my own experiences in the classroom and struggles as a student. Although early on I was not an achieving student, my classrooms were which rich with instructors who had an ability to pass on the tools to make me a better thinker, not just a better student. With the tools that I gained early on, I have been able to overcome my early tribulations and become an effective student at a level higher than I would have ever imagined. This reality has proved to me the necessity and value of teaching the more broad concepts in education in conjunction to the content area skills. By fusing content area understanding with basic logic and thinking skills I think that students will be much more prepared to be successful outside of the classroom. Whether their education helps them attend a University themselves or prepared them to enter the workforce directly out of high-school, the ability to think for themselves and problem solve will be skills that will ensure success going forward. Considering this experience in my life I feel a need to work towards this goal of helping produce more self-aware and self-motivated learners. By structuring my instruction around this basic goal of creating thinkers instead of mimics of instruction we will have a population of students who are better prepared for achieving at higher levels after their secondary education
