set up
to improve sport within
school and improve
a healthy lifestyle.
 Each ½ term, During the

To be a sports captain for your tutor
group you need
• Excellent leadership and communication
skills
• An effective team player who encourages
and motivates others
• Responsible and Reliable
• Organised and Punctual
• Can work well with others.
 What does Welling School
expect from you?
• Punctual to all PE Lessons and have the correct PE Kit at all times.
• Assist the teacher with collection and distribution of equipment
before, during and after the lessons.
• Lead by example by following instructions first time and being an
excellent role model for the rest of the class and year group.
• Represent their school and team with pride, encouraging fair play
and sportsmanship.
• Responsible for organising and leading on team selections and
distributing letters for fixtures.
• Help the team manager with preparing football kits, equipment and
water bottles
• Encourage and promote healthy lifestyles by motivating students to
participate in out of hour’s clubs and activities.
• Qualify as Sports Leaders and take a lead in running lunchtime and
after school clubs in their specialist areas.
