After careful examination of your credentials, we have decided not to include you in the group being given final consideration. It is not easy to write this, for we truly have many qualified applicants. However, we only have one position. I am not so far removed from the job hunt that I have forgotten how difficult it is to be turned down. It may be some small consolation to you to know that I still have a file of 200 or so rejection letters!
