ERICK SHIGONGOS PROFILE

Mr. Erick Shigongo was born in 1969 in Mwanza region. He is the 7th to be born in his family
and Sukuma by tribe. He his a tall black guy. He is a man of figh.
In his age of 20 in 1989 he started to work at Geita Mining where he got a lot of money but he
spoiled them through luxurious life. In 1996 he lost everything. In the year 1997-1998 he
decided to travel to dare s salaam to look for success. Thats were his journey begun through
registering his news paper but had no capital he then later met with reach friends who
contributed a lot make him to be who he is today

DETERMINATION
One of success factors for entrepreneurs is determination, the intrepreneur has to determine first
for his success. Mr Shigongo had a self determination that he must get out of where he was to
where he desired to be. And this was implemented when he left his parents in Mwanza region in
Tanzania where they were living very poor life to dare s salaam to seek for the changes

PERSEVERANCE
Perseverance can be explained as persistence or enduring hardships or challenging moments in
ones journey for success. Or can be termed as Never giving Up!.this is the other characteristic
of entrepreneurs. They never give up easly!. Mr shigongo has a persevering spirit, when he
arrived in Dar es salaam, things were not easy for him but what he knew was He must
fulfill/implement his plan. He had no place to sleep rather than Kisutu bus terminal and he stayed
there, he was sleeping there for almost one and a half a month and he endured that hardship also
even when he was about to implement his plan of printing his own magazine he decided to meet
with Mr Adm J who is a reach guy just to ask him for sum funds for his project. He went to Mr
Adam J like two times asking for his help without success, Mr Shigongo never gave up on him
and he decided to see him for the third time and this time he succeeded to get the funds to start
his project.

CALCULATE RISK
Entrepreneurs are risk takers, they do not fear about the future when they are to implement their
plans. Mr shigongo says Its nothing like right time just start. He dared to start without caring
what the results might be but trusting that it must work. He left his parents in Mwanza, yes but
he did not even know if things will work in Dar es salaam, he took risk to come to dar es salaam
to look for his desired life or his dreams fulfillment and he succeeded.

PERSONAL GOAL SET

Entrepreneurs set goals. This is also one of their success factors. They set goals and they make
sure they make objective to meet their goals. Mr Shigongos set a goal to print his own magazine
which will sell all over Tanzania. Through his goal set he now owns two hotels one of which
known as Johannesburg hotel, owns a farmer of 250 hectors. Etc. He also had a goal to change
his parents life in his age of 22 he succeeded to build a big modern house for his parents in
mwanza which changed their life history. Shigongo Says One should set his/her personal goals
and never get satisfied to where he/she is.

IMPLEMENTING OF PLANS
Entrepreneurs do not end up on just planning but instead they go further on seeing that they
implement what they have planned. Mr Shigongo had a dream to succeed but how to succeed, he
planned to print his own magazine but how to print own magazine because he had no money to
implement the plan. He went to further step to ask for money/fund to a reach guy Mr Adam. He
took all the action in order to see that his plan is implemented and he succeeded. Entrepreneurs
are not people of Bla Bla! they dont plan for things and left them in hair but instead they make
sure whatever gets in their minds as a plan is implemented and thats very factor of their success.
