Solve Problems 5, 6 , 7, 8, 11 in Pages 158 ( 24) in the book Topology (2nd Ed., 2013) by Munkres 3. Solve Problems 1, 3 , 5 in Page 162 ( 25) in the book Topology (2nd Ed., 2013) by Munkres. 4. Prove or disprove each of the following : (i) R3 a plane is connected. (ii) R3 a straight line is connected. (iii) S 1 S 1 \ ((S 1 {1}) ({1} S 1 )) is connected. (iv) (R {0}) {(x, y ) R2 : xy = 1, x > 0} R2 is connected. (v) Let X and Y be path connected spaces and (x, y ) X Y . If each X and Y has more than one elements then X Y \ {(x, y )} (with product topology) is path connected.
