Aims The aims of the syllabus in Persian arc as follows To acquaint the students with classical and modern Persian To familiarise them with such selection of Persian texts including those from qbal! which ha"e a "alue in #ractical life$

PAPER - I (Marks %00)

1. (a) Origin and development of the language. Outline: &lementary information about' ("esta! )ld Persian and Pahla"i languages$ The ad"ent of Persian #rose and #oetry in the #resent scri#t in the slamic era$ The earlier Persian #rose writers and #oets u#to *th century +,%0th century ($-$
