Position: Student Associate Student Assistance Center, Dean of Students Office Location: Front desk, Student Assistance Center, SSCB 1.102 Grade: Tech I Number of Hours: 20hrs/week Pay Rate: $8.30/hr Position Start Date: Immediately Position End Date: 8/15/14
Position Description: The student associate will assist prospective, former, and current students with admissions, enrollment, academic records, and financial processes. The student associate will also assist staff, faculty, and university constituencies with inquiries while also serving as an ambassador for the Dean of Students Office and Student Services Division. This is a security sensitive position. Qualifications/Preferences Applicants must have previously attended UHCL for at least one semester. Current UHCL student in good academic standing, 2.5 GPA undergraduate/3.0 GPA graduate. Verbal and written command of the English language. The ideal candidate is friendly, approachable, team-oriented, reliable, and capable of managing a high volume of requests with efficiency and professionalism. Candidates must be responsible, and able to manage their time and commitments without extensive supervision.

Application Instructions: 1. Students may attend the Open House Interviews on Tuesday, Jan. 7th, 10am 11:30am. There is no pre-registration or appointments and students can just simply show up anytime between 10am and 11:30am. Students must bring their resumes and each interview will last 5-10 minutes. 2. Students who are unable to make the Open House Interviews may pick up an application and submit it, along with the resume, to the Student Assistance Center (SSCB 1.102). Applications submitted after 11:30am, Tuesday, Jan. 7th will be considered, but are not guaranteed an interview. Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, Jan. 8th. 3. Students are to monitor their UHCL Email for a response. If a response is not received by 7pm, Jan. 21, 2014, students may email the Student Assistance Center (uhclsac@uhcl.edu) to check their application status.
