Thesis Alcohol creates dramatic damage and should be prohibited.

Too much alcohol consumption from men led to the abuse of their families. Many women believed that alcohol was evil; therefore, with the small amount of rights they had, they prayed in front of bars, and ask bar owners to shut down their establishments. Woman were responsible of protecting themselves, and their families; therefore, they wanted to eliminate alcohol. A few of the short term outcomes that took effect when Prohibition was in place was rebelling from men, and the sneaking around of alcoholic beverages. The 18th amendment made the consumption of alcohol illegal, but later 21st amendment revoked the 18th. The 21st amendment was a type of long term outcome. With alcohol roaming freely around, a few long term outcomes are similar to the modern day issues; such as, drinking and driving, abuse, suicide, homicide, manslaughter, and health risks. The Womans Christian Temperance Union did what was right. Alcoholic beverages should be made illegal because of the negative outcomes that come with it, such as: abuse, loss of jobs, and negative behavior.
