Interdisciplinary Studies is about integrating disciplinary knowledge in a organized, focused manner. It requires critical thinking and disciplinary insight in order to tackle the solution to a complex issue with no err of bias. This leads to holistic knowledge which can be applied.

Interdisciplinary studies differentiate itself from multidisciplinary, cross disciplinary and transdisciplinary studies. It provides for new studies by taking knowledge bases of two or more fields of study.

For problems or issues to be addressed, critical thinking and diligent research must be established by gathering and evaluating multiple insights.

In a technology driven society, social and cultural biases must be ignored and discarded for worthy knowledge.
