DOZER

Introduction :
Bulldozers are large and powerful tracked heavy equipment. A crawler (continuous tracked tractor) equipped with a substantial metal plate (known as a blade). Used to push large quantities of soil, sand, rubble, or other such material during construction or conversion work Equipped at the rear with a claw-like device (known as a ripper) to loosen denselycompacted materials.

Crawler Bulldozer
Powerful tracked heavy equipment. Tracks give them excellent ground holding capability and mobility through very rough terrain. Wide tracks help distribute the bulldozer's weight over a large area, thus preventing it from sinking in sandy or muddy ground.

Wheeled Bulldozer
Driven by a 4-wheel-drive system and has a hydraulic, articulated steering system.

The blade is mounted forward of the articulation joint, and is hydraulically actuated.

TOOLS :
The bulldozer's primary tools are the blade and the ripper.

Blade - It is a heavy metal plate on the front of the tractor, used to push objects, and
shoving sand, soil and debris. Dozer blades usually come in three varieties: A straight blade ("S blade), used for fine grading. A universal blade ("U blade"), used to carry more material. An "S-U combination blade used for pushing piles of large rocks, such as at a quarry.

Ripper - The ripper is the long claw-like device on the back of the bulldozer.
Rippers can come as a single (single shank/giant ripper) or in groups of two or more (multi shank rippers).

WHEEL TRACTOR
INTRODUCTION

Travel with higher speed than crawler type. Max. speed more than 48 kmph. Advantageous in jobs requiring travel over considerable distances.

TYPES :
a) Two-wheel type tractors b) Four-wheel type tractors

ADVANTAGES :

Advantages of two-wheel type tractors Increased maneuverability. Increased traction for the driving axle. Decreased rolling resistance. Fewer tyres to provide and maintain.

Advantages of four-wheel type tractors Better steering properties. More stable on rough roads, less tendency to bump. Greater speed. Can work as an independent unit when separated from the trailing unit.
