As this graph shows, there is a strong positive correlation between the cross sectional area and the distance

downstream, with this particular variable increasing with the distance downstream. For example, at 0.3km downstream, the C.S.A was 0.29 metres, whereas at 11km downstream it was 3.8 metres. Overall, there is an increase of C.S.A of 3.54 metres between the first site and the last. The Spearmans Rank result for this set of data is 1.000, meaning we can say for definite that this correlation did not occur by chance, and that it is 100% statistically significant. Furthermore, there are no clear anomalies shown on this graph part from at the last site, Albury, 11km from the source, which even still only deviates slightly from the trend line.
