com I will complete my BS Degree in Computer Science this May. In addition to the core program, Ive enrolled in subjects concerning high efficiency, low-level computing. In particular, I participated in a cooperative (two-person team) independent study course on CUDA, whereby I had the opportunity to explore parallel programming techniques, using an extension of C. This project, in particular, shifted my interests towards high efficiency, distributed computing. Presently, I am involved in a distributed systems application, as a tool to explore the underlying concepts of distributed programming. I have had over 4 years of experience studying and developing in imperative, object-languages, in particular, C++, Java, and C#. Independently, my research interests are Big Data and high-performance computing. Further, Ive completed senior level courses in Mathematics, particularly, Abstract Algebra and Complex Analysis. I have had continuous experience communicating in groups, as well as public speaking for the past five years. In the past three years, Ive had the opportunity to collaborate closely with teams to design, develop, and test software projects under strict deadlines. I have gained meaningful experience from overcoming difficult technical and conceptual challenges, and equally significant, communication challenges. While completing my Associates degree, I had the opportunity to deliver workshops, and final-preparation reviews. Through my entire college career, Ive worked as a tutor, which has granted me plenty of one-on-one communication experience. Though I am yet to accrue extended professional experience in specialized software tools, my recent training has left me confident about my ability to assess, adapt, specialize, and hopefully contribute to the platform which provides the greatest advantages to provide not just effective, but efficient solutions.
