Dear Teacher Associate,! I am looking forward to joining your classroom on March 3rd. I am thrilled for the opportunity to learn and grow from your knowledge and experience in the eld of education. To tell you a little about me, I was born and raised in Lethbridge Alberta. I moved to Toronto at the age of 19 to pursue a career in dance that included getting a B.F.A in Dance Performance from Ryerson University. After graduating in 2005, I started a dance company called Alias Dance Project with a mandate to bridge audience gaps by integrating various dance forms into one style. Besides working with my dance company I was the director/teacher of the contemporary dance program at Turning Pointe Academy of Dance for eleven years. In 2011, I formed a youth dance company called Pivotal Motion Dance Theatre that worked and performed in dance pieces choreographed by some of Canadas most celebrated dance artists. As well as teaching children, I also taught Pilates for eight years at Riverdale Pilates in Toronto where I specialized in rehabilitation, helping people with injuries and chronic pain.!

In addition to dancing one of my greatest passions is traveling. Between my husband and I we have been to over thirty countries around the world and at least eight of them we have travelled together. I love immersing myself in different cultures and learning about their food, history and art. !

Family is the most important thing in my life. In 2012 my son Odin was born. He is an amazing little boy and the light of my life. After he was born my husband and I decided to move home to be close to our families and raise our children. It was upon moving back to Lethbridge that I decided to pursue a career in education. !

Thank-you for taking the time to read my letter. I look forward to our time together in the classroom.! Sincerely,! Geordan Olson
