The Sochi Olympics is the most expensive olympics ever. With the cost being around 51 billion dollars. The real question is where did all of it go?

Some of it goes to the events, $520 million each. There are 12 events including ski slopstyle, snowboard slopstyle, ski half pipe, ski jump, and gure skating. That adds up to around 6.24 billion dollars for the events.

The opening cermony cost about 43.1 billion dollars. with the events and the opening cermony together add up to 49.34 billion dollars.

The building they hosted the opening cermony in cost around 600 million dollars.

The total cost of all these things is about 49.94 billion dollars.
