Shes old, but shes not as old as he is. Box A isnt as big as Box B. A. not asas Rome is not as old as Athens. (= Athens is older.) The Grand Hotel isnt expensive as the Royal. (= the Royal is more expensive.) I dont play tennis as often as you. (= you play more often) The weather is better than yesterday. It isnt as cold. (= as cold yesterday.) B. not as much as/not as many as. I dont have much money as you. (= you have more money) I dont know as many people as you. (= you know more people) I dont go out as much as you. (you go out more) Compare not as and than: Rome is not as old as Athens. Athens is older than Rome. (not older as Rome) Tennis isnt as popular as soccer. Soccer is more popular than tennis. I dont go out as much as you. You go out more than me. C. We sayas me /as him/as her, etc.: Shes not as old as him. Or shes not as old as he is. You dont have as much patience as me. Or you dont have as much patence as I have. D. Note that we say the same as: My hair is the same color as yours. (not the same like) I arrived at the same time as Tom.
