IF you use other peoples work /ideas /words you need to acknowledge or tell where they came from.

Academic honesty is The basis of good scholarship or showing how to be a good student.

If you do not give people credit for their work

You are stealing from them

Behaviour in examinations Acknowledgement of authorship Production of original work Protection of all forms of intellectual property.

In Global Perspectives the biggest issue is with our independent research.

Teachers, and families are responsible but most importantly you are responsible!

What could happen

Teachers will keep information in their records Administration will be told Parents will be told It could be recorded on your school file

Minor incidences- talking, trying to look at someone else's paper or trying to get help in any way
For minor incidents in examinations you will get a warning and it will be recorded, break the rules again you could lose between 5% and 25% of marks or not have your paper marked from the point where the cheating was seen.

Major incidences- This includes having planned cheat notes, taking a photograph of the exam paper, phone use, internet networks for sharing exam questions or your 3rd minor violation

You will lose 25%-100% of marks and or be asked to leave the exam room.

For serious incidents especially in the final copy of your research paper You could lose
