Monsters can be anything from large, scary creatures to normal people dressed in normal clothes. Monsters have been created over time by different cultures and they often resemble what was happening in the era of their creation. Monsters have been recreated in modern times that were originally formed hundreds of years ago. Vampires and even monsters like Frankenstein have recently been recreated in Hollywood. The new monsters are more human-like than ever before. With this similarity between humans and monsters its harder than ever to distinguish who is harmless and who is malicious. Throughout history a numerous amount of monsters have been created through literature and folklore. They have been made as symbols, used as explanations for natural phenomena, and depicted in art. As time has continued, classic monsters such as vampires and werewolves have been brought to new life within the last decade in fiction novels and in movies. The characters are mostly depicted as teenagers or young adults that appear to be just like everyone else walking on the street or in the hallways of a high school. Yet they hold secrets of their real identity. Their monster identity. Monsters have been becoming more human-like than ever before and now its impossible to tell them apart from citizens. I think this portrays that humans are really only afraid of other humans. The representation of monstrous humans has become popularized by authors and in recent films.
