How a Career Change Can Change You Or Its not what your job is, but what your

job does for you?? (for a speech) I have had a lot of major changes in my life recently. he largest of these is !robably my career change. "nd its because of this career change that I have made some major changes in how I thin#, behave and view myself. $efore wor#ing as a %&", I ran my own family daycare centre. It was a fine job' I enjoy children and obviously !ossess lots of !atience and enthusiasm. However, my new career is so much more fulfilling. (and its not because I no longer have to wi!e noses, change dia!ers or wal# u! and down an e)tremely stee! driveway !ushing a double stroller *+, times every single day. .y job is rewarding. /ach day I feel as though I ma#e a difference. I am fortunate enough to have a job that you do receive feedbac# from the !ublic and I have received it through 0uality assurances that are in !lace such as the Client &urvey form and the Chamber of Commerce 1o "wards. I am challenged each and every day. I gain more #nowledge and new s#ills all the time. I wor# in an environment where there are constant changes made and continual learning is not only encouraged, but re0uired. I am ama2ed by how much my confidence has grown during the !ast , months. In !revious !ositions I lac#ed confidence. /ven in my last job3.. I ran my own business but yet wasnt able to set or control things li#e hours of o!eration and !ayment schedules. I now feel that I am much more assertive and self confident. .y job encourages me to ta#e on res!onsibilities, to try new things. I receive !ositive feedbac# from both cowor#ers and from clients and feel acce!ted and valued as an em!loyee. Clients often as# me how I can always be smiling (es!ecially on a cold wet .onday morning- I sim!ly say that I am just fortunate enough to truly enjoy my job. 4hen contem!lating to!ics for this s!eech today, I wanted to be able to s!ea# naturally and not sound rehearsed. I decided that the best way to !ull that off would be to s!ea# about a to!ic that I am comfortable with. I thought 5what do I normally tal# about with comfort and confidence?6 "nd my career was the obvious answer.
