I Held a Flower By the River

I held a flower by the river

Pouting petals in the hand
That led unto the thought
While stood upon the land

That violence is the mouth

Ebbing petals to the heart
And mind is the current
Tearing them apart.
[here within imported by the brain]

[here][or here]
[where]
[there]

in a
gust of wind
travelled
I
[here] NOW I am [here]
to shake fleshy stalks
at none
that
I
am just
the breath of
GOD
saying lilacs are such pretty things
i do not want to be

i do not w nt to be
i do n t w nt to be
i do n t w nt o be
i do n t w n o be
i do n t n o be
i do t n o b
i do t o b
i do o b
i do o

We Garden

hoses
like snakes
spit drops that
sun takes
as prisms -
still, we garden.

it's those
colors
that make
our muscles n' bones
ache,
and the leaves
all
fall
and
harden.
