Accommodation- involves making adjustments (changes) or reaching a compromise (agreement) to allow differences. Integration- providing equal opportunity for participation of different groups in society. Allowing all people to get involed These are both opportunities because they allow people to express there culture religion, and beliefs.

Opportunities Presented From Globalization

Canada has a made accommodation and integration a policy. Therefore Canada provides immigrants an opportunity to express their culture, religion, and beliefs.
Have you seen examples of these opportunities in Canada? Inquiry: Get into groups of 2 and come up with and write down as many examples of accommodation and integration in Canada as you can.

Some examples: Many different Church, Mosques, and temples available for many different religions. Also the ability of people to express their religious beliefs (like they can wear crosses and turbans)

Opportunities in Canada

Acculturation: a change in an individual or a group that results from being around another group. So for example if you hang around runners a lot then you may start running.
This is an opportunity because it allows people to change gradually to the people around them if they want to.

Affirmation of Identity- This means to prove, show, and express your identity.
Globalization can provide us with ways to affirm our identity. For example media (TV, Newspapers, Magazines, Facebook, etc) can provide us with ways to show and prove our identity around the world.
