October 5th, 2013 To Whom It May Concern: During my tenure as a faculty member at Missouri Southern State University, Jamie

Wu was that student that encouraged me to become the instructor I wish I could be. She was focused and determined; volunteering her time to help others create videos for class that were nothing short of high quality. I would later find that the aforementioned student would be one of the brightest, humblest, and hardest working students that I have had the pleasure of meeting. She has inspired me as an educator and I can say with confidence that she inspires others. Jamie excelled as a student and worked outside the classroom as much as inside. She helped produce the KGCS public broadcast television series, Windows on the World, which educated others on intercultural communication and the International Students Cooking Show. She has served as a photographer for the student newspaper The Chart as well as a journalist; polishing her skills as a creator and writer. Throughout her undergraduate career, she was a teaching assistant to Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School, instructor for a weekend course on Mandarin to middle school students, and a Chinese tutor for Missouri Southern State Universitys language lab. Needless to say, Jamie likes to maintain a busy schedule and takes pride in helping those around her. While at MSSU, Jamie maintained a grade point average bestowing her the privilege of a Deans List Scholar, providing evidence of her academic achievements. She serves as vice president of the Global Family, an organization designated for intercultural communication and education through the sharing of time with others. Jamie is a jack of all trades and continues her journey to master them all. By writing this recommendation, I have the profound belief that Jamies work ethic, leadership skills, and ability to unselfishly volunteer her time will be a valuable addition to your graduate school. I respect her not only as a talented student but as a person. Please feel free to contact me regarding any questions or concern. Sincerely, Kristen M.
