WORKSHARE DELTAVIEW USER GUIDE Introduction Deltaview allows you to compare two documents, quickly providing you with

a list of differences. By following this how-to guide, you will easily master document comparison. Comparing Your Documents 1. From the Start Menu select Programs, Workshare, Deltaview. The Document Selection Screen will appear. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Click the file open button under Original Document.

Select your base document from your local source. Click open. You will return to the Document Selection Screen. Click the file open button under Modified Document.

Select your comparison document from your local source. Click open. You will return to the Document Selection Screen.

NOTE: If you select the Modified document in place of the Original document, click the file reverse button to switch the files. 8. 9. 10. Select Standard from the Rendering Set drop-down menu. De-select the Perform Text Only Comparison (Failsafe Mode) Checkbox. Click OK.

The DeltaView will appear on the screen within seconds. You will have the option to save, share, print, and edit the document (see instructions for each option below). Saving Your DeltaView Now that you have created your DeltaView, you can save it as a Microsoft Word document that can easily be shared with other SharePoint users. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. From the File menu select Save Comparison or press Ctrl and S simultaneously. Select your local network from the Save In drop-down menu. Enter your document name in the File Name field. Select Word Document (*doc) from the Save As Type drop-down menu. Click Save.

Printing Your DeltaView Once you have created and saved your DeltaView, you can print a hardcopy. 1. 2. 3. From the File menu select Print Comparison or press Ctrl and P simultaneously. Select your local area printer from the Name drop-down menu. Select the applicable range you want to print in the Print Range section.

NOTE: You can print all pages, a specified range, or pages only with changes. 4. 5. 6. Enter the number of copies you want to print in the Number of Copies section. Check the Print Redline in Black and White box if you wish to print in black and white only. Click OK.
