Anslem The perfect island is meaningless; it is an evaluative and artificial construct.

Perfection in this case is a contingent, aesthetic consideration not the outcome of a logical process. What would a perfect island consist of? Different people would say different things, and it's supposed pefection only address one aspect of perfection - even though that has not been explicated. Therefore existence is not a necessary property of the postulated, imaginary entity. An island is a limi ted entity (even if it is claimed to be 'perfect') and contingent entity, Anslem s argument works only for the 'all round greatness' of not a particular entity b ut of a universal entity. Graduations of greatness - the last graduation - God. Anslems argument is not about sneaking in existence into the concept of a/the gr eatest entity, but it is a about the realization or intuition that a bounded, imp erfect and limited entity - human existence or reality, must have boundless orgi nator or giver of meaning or a boundless contrast, and that is God and for this reason he must exist.
