CALLING FOR ALL ART SUBMISSIONS REGARDING:

Do you get a period? Do you wish you did get a period? Do you wish you never got your period? What exactly is a period and whats it mean to you? As part of my Spring Project, I want to create and exhibit a gallery inspired by and in honor/hatred of the period. Intertwining community art with entertaining facts and educational pieces, I want to create a safe space where learning and creativity can cooperate in helping to better understand THE POWER OF THE PERIOD. Most of all, I want YOUR ART to be part of this gallery! Would you like to participate? Heres some more information: WHO: All Five College Students are allowed to participate. WHAT: Sharing artwork dealing with the period. WHERE: Blanchard Room 108 WHEN: Applications due April 6; Art must be submitted by April 16; Gallery Runs April 23-27 WHY: To help understand how our society views the period and share creative and educational work relating to this misunderstood phenomenon HOW: By sending and sharing your beautiful art! RULES: 1. People from ALL walks of life are allowed to participate (whether you get a period or not)! 2. Your art work can be based on anything a period brings to mind- terror, happiness, relief, joy, curiosity, inspiration, doom, misery, hunger, etc,. Its up to your interpretation! 3. Your art work can be made on any medium and using any material EXCEPT (and yes, this has to be said) any animal or human product. Art can also be text, poetry, prose or memoirs. 4. Your submission must be light and manageable enough for one person to carry. You must arrange with Danuta on how your artwork will be delivered/ how it will make it to the gallery through email. 5. You must complete an entry application and email it to poweroftheperiod@gmail.com 6. You will be notified via email if your entry is accepted as soon as it is received. However, if your entry is deemed inappropriate or unsuitable for the exhibits purposes or goals due to manageability or subject matter, you will be notified ahead of time.
