1: What are the names of the species used in this experiment?

Which of these species was the most tolerant of increased acidity in the aquarium? Which species was the least tolerant? The names were the Sideswimmer, the Aquatic Earthworm, and Tubifex worm. The most tolerant were the last two. The Sideswimmer was the least tolerant. 2: Describe how acid precipitation affects ecosystems. Acid precipitation adds more acid to the water, altering the pH. Many organisms are dependent on a stable pH, and can cause many problems if it is out of balance. 3: What is an indicator species? How are indicator species used to assess pollution levels in the environment? An indicator species is a species that tells if there is problem within the ecosystem. They see if the indicator species is healthy to tell the pollution levels of the ecosystem. 4: Suppose you are an ecologist studying the effects of acid precipitation of plant life. Describe an experiment you would perform in order to determine which plant species would be an useful indicator species for acid rain pollution. An experiment would be checking to see the effects of acid rain pollution on trees in a forest. The plant species could be the trees depending on the water. 5: How do the data represented on the Population Bar Graph compare to the data represented in the line graph titled, Populations of Aquatic Invertebrates at Various pH Levels? The data on the graph shows, for my data, that species one has the least tolerance. Due to species ones less population, it does not show compared to the other two species.
