Barista Lavazza

Barista Lavazza is a chain of espresso bars in India. Established in February 2000

under the name Barista, it was taken over by Lavazza in 2007, a worldfamous

enterprise that continues as Italy s top-ranking coffee company. Headquartere d inOkhla

Barista currently has espresso bars across India, Sri Lanka, Banglade sh and theMiddle East. The Barista Coffee

Company Limited established it in February 2000 .A 34.3% equity stake was

sold to Tata Coffee in 2001. C Sivasankaran bought theremaining 65 per cent in Barista from the Amit Judge-

controlled Turner Morrison in2004, and his Sterling Group also bought out Tata Coffee's stake later. In

2007, theSterling G roup sold Barista to Lavazza. Lavazza currently

owns Barista Lavazza. The coffee is supplied by the Indian roaster Fresh and honest

, headquartered inChennai, which is also owned by Lavazza. As of 2009, the chain has 200 stores inIndia,

with an estimated annual revenue of 200 crores.
