Supervisor Ron Roberts Unopposed For Re-Election

The San Diego County Registrar of Voters confirmed today that Ron Roberts was the only candidate to file by the March 7 deadline for election to the Board of Supervisors representing the Fourth District. First elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1994, this will be Roberts sixth and final term as a result of voter-approved term limits. Im proud of the job weve done in San Diego County, creating one of the best-run local governments in America, managing the publics tax dollars prudently, and providing high-quality, cost-effective services to our constituents, said Roberts. The fact that no one felt compelled to oppose me this year confirms that view. But this is a special occasion for me personally. Without an opponent, I will be able to stay focused on the projects and priorities I care so much about the grand opening of our beautiful waterfront park at the County Administration Building, the challenge of ensuring the states prison realignment plan doesnt compromise the safety of our residents, completion of the trolley line expansion from Old Town to the UC San Diego campus, support for the Countys foster kids who need and deserve our continued attention, greater use of data and personalized technology to improve our residents safety and health, and the growth of international trade relations to strengthen our local economy and businesses. Those are just a few of the things still on my to-do list, and I couldnt be more excited about the chance to see them to completion. I am grateful to the residents of the Fourth District who have supported and worked with me over the years. You are my inspiration and I look forward to our continued partnership." Prior to his election to the Board of Supervisors in 1994, Roberts served two terms on the San Diego City Council and the citys Planning Commission, an d served as a managing partner for one of the region's largest and most successful architectural firms for many years. He and his wife raised three successful daughters who have added three grandchildren to the family. ####
