Neutrophils and macrophages ( isolate and phagocytize bacteria).

Most primary tubercles heal by forming scars and calcify lesion ( ghon tubercles).

Necrotic degeneration

May contain bacilli that can be reactivated and cause secondary infection. Multiple drug resistance.

Produces cavity filled with cheese-like mass of tubercle bacilli, dead WBCs and necrotic lung tissues

Insertion of CTT

Medical management Drugs (no effects).

s/sx: low grade fever, fatigue, (+)hemoptysis , productive cough, night sweats, pallor, dyspnea, chest, pain, Elevated WBC
