In the year 1734, Elector Karl Albrecht ordered the building of the Amalienburg Pavilion for his wife,

aria Amalia! "he structure is located in the grounds of #ym$henburg Palace, unich, southern %ermany! It served as a $leasure $alace and at the same time, a hunting lodge! &ive years later '173(), construction was com$leted! &ran*ois de +uvilli,s su$$lied the designs for the architecture and decoration and incor$orated the -ococo style which could be clearly seen in the building.s e/terior and interior $arts! "he stucco wor0 was largely done by 1ohann 2a$tist 3immermann, the woodcarving by 1ohann 1oachim 4ietrich and the $ainting by 1ose$h Pas5ualin oretti! "he fa*ade of the building has delicate carvings above the windows and es$ecially around the door, as well as on the roof! Almost all of it is $ainted with light, $astel colors! Inside, the 6all of irrors which is the center of the $avilion, as its name im$lies, ma0es use of the mirrors to reflect light and the e/5uisite lines of the ornamental molding that are sha$ed li0e $lants, birds, trees and vines7 li0e nature on the walls! Intricate $atterns, delicate colors and metallic stucco tracings cover the walls and $art of the ceiling! 8ith the use of the enormous crystal mirrors in the room, it seems li0e the decorations multi$ly infinitely and also create an illusion of endless s$ace!
