Southern Smash: Vanderbilt

WHO: WHAT: Southern Smash Southern Smash will host its first Southern Smash: Vanderbilt at Vanderbilt University Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014. The event raises eating disorder awareness and promotes positive body image by physically smashing scales. The Scale Smash will take place on Vanderbilt Universitys Alumni Lawn from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes smashing scales and writing on Let it Go balloons and Dare to LOVE Yourself cards. SmashTALK, an open discussion about body image and eating disorders lead by Founder McCall Dempsey and expert panelists, continues the conversation in Buttrick 102 from 5:30-7 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public thanks to primary sponsor Veritas Collaborative and partners Eating Disorder Coalition of Tennessee and Vanderbilts Go Figure and Liaisons Educating & Advocating for Psychological Support.
