Bye-law 2 (iii) of the Society reads as under:

The Executive Council may on application in the prescribed form admit as Institutional Member,
approved Institutions of the following categories.
(a) Universities, University Departments, Colleges etc. offering instructions in Engineering/
Technology at the bachelors degree or higher levels.
(b) Polytechnics and institutes offering Diploma courses in Engineering and Technology.
(c) Research Institutes in Engineering and Technology.
(d) Industrial and Professional organisations having specific and active interest in Technical
Education.
(e) Departments of Central and State Government, Statutory bodies and autonomous bodies
that have an interest in Engineering and Technology Education.
