Girls on the Run South Louisiana 5K

WHO: WHAT: Girls on the Run South Louisiana Girls on the Run South Louisiana will celebrate the culmination of its 10-week fall season with a noncompetitive 5K Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013. Girls on the Run South Louisiana invites men, women, boys and girls of all ages to run in the noncompetitive event alongside more than 550 local third through eighth grade girls. Approximately 1500 runners, volunteers and spectators are expected to attend the celebration filled with fun activities, music and post-5K food. Registration is available online for $25 until 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. Packet Pick-up will take place at Varsity Sports on Perkins Road from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013. WHERE: Pennington Biomedical Research Center 6400 Perkins Road Baton Rouge, LA 70808 Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 Event opens at 7:30 a.m. 5K begins at 9 a.m. Girls on the Run facilitates an after-school program to inspire girls in third through eighth grades to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
