of violent content or attrct attention because of their presumed copycat effects on some members of the audience

It appears on the basis of the evidence put forward by Gross that the sittuation in Romania aslo corresponded more or less exactly to the prescriptions of the Schramm theory. Romanian national radio- which begun to broadcast in 1928- reduced by half its transmission time. The nuber of newspapers fropped from about one hundred to around forty . The worst situation was that the Romanian television, which nearly ceased to exist , broadcasting only 2 hours a day .
