Quick Setup Guide and Warranty Information

Assembling the Hardware


First use of the board:

Insert the MiniPCI cards; Install the board in a case and connect antenna wires, if needed; Connect other peripherals and cables; Plug in power cable to turn on the board.

Powering
The board accepts powering from either the power jac or the !"#$ %thernet port:

!"#$ %thernet port J601 accepts $,..)- . /C input 'at the board; higher *oltage needed to compensate for power
loss on long cables; at least $-. suggested+ from non-standard (passive) Power o*er %thernet injectors 'no power o*er datalines+. The ma1imum output of the power suppl2 a*ailable for e1tension cards is normall2 $34.

Booting process
First, 5outer677T loader is started. It displa2s some useful information on the onboard 58)0)C as2nchronous serial port. The serial port is set b2 default to $$(),,bit9s, - data bits, $ stop bit, no parit2. ote that the de*ice does not full2 implement the hardware '5T89CT8+ flow control, so it is suggested to tr2 to disable hardware flow control in the terminal emulation program in case the serial console does not wor as e1pected, and if it does not help, ma e a new cable using the pinout gi*en in the :ser;s manual. The loader ma2 be configured to boot the s2stem from the onboard #"#/, and9or from networ . 8ee the respecti*e section of :ser;s manual on how to configure booting se<uence and other 6I78 parameters. /=CP or 677TP 'configurable in loader+ protocols allow the 5outer67"5/ >00 series board to get an initial IP address, and pro*ide the address of a TFTP ser*er to download an %!F boot image from. It is especiall2 useful for software installation. 8ee the :ser;s manual for more information and protocol details. #ote that 2ou must connect the 5outer67"5/ 2ou want to boot and the 677TP9/=CP and TFTP ser*ers to the same broadcast domain 'i.e., there must not be an2 routers between them ? the2 must be on the same %thernet switch+.

!"tension #lots and Ports


Three %thernet ports, supporting automatic cross9straight cable correction '"uto M/I9A+, so 2ou can use either
straight or cross&o*er cables for connecting to other networ de*ices. The first %thernet port accepts $,..)- . /C powering from a passi*e Po% injector. The other two %thernet ports do not support Po% powering.

B$ttons

578 reset hole. 4hile booting, and holding a metal object in this hole 'so that it;s metal sides short&circuit+ will cause 5outer78 software to be reset to defaults 6I78 !oader bac up button. =olding the button while booting will cause the bac up bootloader to be used.
