We are Pioneers in Taiwan Biomedical Engineering Our Globalization Plan Offers Your Students to be Pioneers in Your Country

Great Reputation: Our School of Engineering has been ranked the number 1 for Industrial preference in Taiwan. Also, the National Cheng Kung Medical School and Hospital just one block away from our Institute which makes our biomedical engineering research environment very unique in Taiwan and also in the world. http://www.eng.ncku.edu.tw/english/abroad. Our BME society journal, Journal of Biomedical Engineering (JMBE), has been selected in the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCIE). Also, I personally serve as Executive Editor-in-Chief of JMBE. Please see the open-access articles of JMBE at http://jmbe.bme.ncku.edu.tw/index.php/bme/ Interdisciplinary Cutting-Edge Research: Our BME Institute is an integrated forum that offers interdisciplinary research to engineering and medical science students (including many physician) engaged in the various areas of biomedical engineering, including biomechanics, medical imaging, tissue engineering, neural engineering, bionanotechnology, biosensing, etc. Our faculty members publish intensively in the international journals, more than 60 SCI publications in past 1.5 year, as shown in the attached file. The prospective students can also understand our faculty research interests and identify the track of their study. Learning Environment and Medical Device Industry: We have offered English-taught courses and seminar for graduate students. Also, most of our faculty members received their PhD degrees from prestigious Universities from United States. It is very common for our graduate students to write their thesis in English. Also, many of our students participate in international exchange program to Yale U., Mayo Clinics, Duke U, Tohoku U (Japan), NUS and NTU (Singapore) and many others. Also, our BME Institute, located closely to Tainan Science Park and Medical Device Special Zone in Southern Taiwan. The students have great opportunities to meet the entrepreneur of growing medical device manufacturers in Taiwan. Scholarship: NCKU Outstanding International Student Scholarship for Postgraduate. Waivers of tuition, credit and on campus accommodation fees are available for all admitted postgraduate students. Assistantship or stipend (annually between 2100 USD and 4200 USD) can be offered depending on the qualification and performance of students. Please check the details from Office of International Affairs, NCKU: http://oia-en.ncku.edu.tw/files/14-1040-51107,r772-1.php Our BME Institute also offers additional travelling support to international conference.
