Full outline of Programme Idea The programme is based on a group of college students. Much like the Skins cast the focal friendship group suffer from the various pressures and issues that come with being a student. Additionally like Skins we want to have one episode a week that focuses on one particular character. For the pilot episode the main focus is on the femme-fatale of the programme Poison Ivy. Ivys self-destructive nature destroys not only her own life but anyone else who even has the slightest bit of compassion towards Ivy. Including her best friend Max. Max has been in love with Ivy the second he met her at college, however Ivy takes advantage of Maxs caring nature by exploiting and abuses how much he is prepared to do for her. The more Ivy pushes and abuses Maxs trust the more he wants to be close to her. As Max is feeling out of depth he begins to take drugs (mainly sold to him by Ivy). This just proves just how much he wants to impress her. Additionally Ivy takes advantage of peoples trust, including her best friend Jess. Ivy has been having an affair with Jesss boyfriend Howard, destroying both Jessess trust and her relationship with Howard. The friendships Ivy had before college are no more, including her close bond with her ex best friend Hannah. Once someone is no use to Ivy she pushes them out of her life. Not only has she destroyed her social life/relationships, she is also jeopardising her college work. Will she turn it around?

Over the summer Layla was a victim of sexual abuse. Unfortunately the court case was suspended and the rapist left without any charge. Since the incident Layla has been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, in affect she has isolated herself away from all her friends and family. But now the new academic year has begun, Layla is viewing university as an escape route from her past. In hope of meeting a new group of friends and rediscovering her identity. But after an encounter on the first night of Freshers, its apparent her past is there to haunt her. -The soaps hybrid drama will be Melodrama. -I want to take codes and conventions from programmes such as Skins, which is a teen British Melodrama.

Character names, profiles and relationships 6 Characters -Ivy -Max -Hannah -Howard -Louis -Jess Ivy-No-one can quite work out Ivy. An independent, cold and
extremely attractive femme fatale. You'd be foolish to mistake her reserve for reluctance as her poison awaits the next victim- Or perhaps Ivy's heart of stone might not be too hard after all when what goes around finally comes back around... Max-Known as Ivy's lassie, Max's kind, wacky imagination and introverted style is a result of years of comic books and a very sheltered lifestyle besotted in her shadow. Max's innocence wears thin as does his patience with Ivy but how far will he go to get the girl? Hannah-Kind-natured Hannah, avoids confrontation at all costs. Unless of course it's with herself. With little esteem and obsessive tendencies Hannah is self destructive leaving little time for conflict with others. Unlike her best friend, Jess, Hannah's fragile mind is a disaster waiting to happen. Unless she finds love that might change that... Jess-The girl next door with an attitude. There's no stopping Jess when something (or someone) is in her way. Speaking her mind has placed her on top of the social pyramid but little does she know of the other triangle her long term boyfriend, Jason, has put her in as she awaits devastating consequences.. but not without a fight. Louis-Howard? Which one? Caught up in life struggles, Howard finds himself in trouble time and time again as his efforts to maintain his playful lifestyle and representation as a rugged Casanova are put on the line. Becoming a threat to his circle of friends, life starts to play him for a change... Howard-Howard? Which one? Why the programme idea will work The target audience is aged 17-22 years. As the programme is based on college students within this age group they fit into the audience demographic and see parallel with their own lives and the characters lives. -Relatable content

Where/When will it be broadcast and why -E4 on Mondays at 9.00pm -We used this channel as similar products such as Skins are aired on E4 -By having it once a week we are conforming to typical conventions (Skins is only once a week) -Aired after the watershed means we can use more explicit content.
