All about Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman was a slave that escaped from slavery in 1849 and became and abolitionist that worked to end slavery. She was born to enslaved parents in Dorchester County, Maryland. In December 1850 she made it her job to go back to her family from slavery. She was the conductor of the Underground Railroad and led many slaves out of slavery and never lost a slave while escaping. In 1869 she married a veteran named Nelson Davis then in 1874 Harriet and Nelson adopted a girl named Gertie. As Tubman grew older the head injuries started catching up with her and her life became more painful and disruptive. Harriet Tubman eventually died on March 10, 1913 in Auburn, New York.
