Health Care Reform: Implementation in Minnesota

OVERVIEW: With the help of Medica Health Plans, the Health Law Institute at Hamline University and the Hamline Law Review seek proposals for presentations and papers for our allday CLE/CEU Symposium that will examine the outstanding challenges confronting the implementation of healthcare reform. The Symposium will take place on Friday, October 24, 2014, at Hamline Universitys main campus in Saint Paul, Minnesota. SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Anyone interested in speaking at the Symposium and/or publishing in the Hamline Law Review's Symposium issue should submit both a CV and a 500word abstract to healthlaw@hamline.edu by April 15, 2014. While the primary focus of the presentation or paper need not be Minnesota-specific, please explain the regional relevance of your topic and thesis. REVIEW PROCEDURE: A committee will review the abstracts and will invite applicants to speak at the symposium and/or publish in the Hamline Law Review. The committee will base invitations on the relevance, quality and originality of the abstract. Potential symposium speakers include both scholars and practitioners in law, medicine, and other disciplines. TRAVEL: Symposium contributors will be provided with both travel and accommodation expenses, as well as with a modest stipend. SPONSORS: The Hamline University School of Law Health Law Institute is ranked 15th in the nation by the U.S. News and World Report, 2015 Edition. The Health Law Institute was established in 2006 and is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Medica provides health coverage to 1.5 million members. Its coverage is available to individuals, employers, third-party administrators and government programs in Minnesota and select counties in Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota. The Hamline Law Review is dedicated to providing a forum for members of the bench, bar, and education communities to discuss topics that are of interest to the legal profession. As a student-run publication, the law review produces a volume of scholarly articles each year.
