STATION #1
In the play "Brighton Beach Memoirs" that we are about to read,
Eugene Jerome is the protagonist of the story. He is a young teenage
boy who is going through physical and emotional maturation. At this
station, you are asked to read the short article on puberty. Following
the sample given, you are to respond to the following "Dear Abbey"
advice column using the information in the article as your 'expert'
advice.
Dear Abbey,
I am a fourteen year old boy who lives with five other family
members. Recently, I have been having really embarrassing episodes.
I have been having dreams about girls and waking up wet. I can't
talk about this with anyone, I feel so ashamed. Please help me, I don't
understand what is going on. What should I do?

STATION #2
The play "Brighton Beach Memoirs" takes place during the
1930s depression. At this station, you are asked to read the entire
article together. Then, synthesize (summarize) the color coded
information that corresponds to your group color by using key words
and phrases and adding them to the graffiti wall. Remember that
however you choose to summarize, your classmates need to be able
to refer to the information and understand it.
Use the space below to brainstorm your ideas in rough and use the
markers provided to put it up one the wall.

STATION #3
At this station, you are asked to read about the author of this play,
Neil Simon. Next, you are to each write a biography on yourselves as
if you were a famous author. What information would you choose to
include? Have your group members add insomething about you.
Don't forget to include a picture of yourself (drawn).

At this station, you are to read the summary of the play at the back
of the book. Then, you are to create a new book cover for the play. It
must be creative, original and use all the details from the description.
Although you are working in a group, you must each produce a
different book cover. Use the space provided below.

At this station, you are asked to choose 4 words from the list of
understanding drama to help create a word wall. The format for each
word is as follows: Word, Definition, picture. Once you have chosen
your groups words, tick them off the list so that the next group
knows what words have been taken. Use the space provided below
for your rough ideas.
