Dear Mr. Tillerson, or Mr. Steward, or whoever is reading Mr. Tillerson's emails: If there was even a remote likelihood that a pipeline rupture or climate disruption could despoil the Platter River or Missouri River or any habitat that has been used by billions of migratory birds (like the sandhill cranes or snow geese) for millions of years, would you risk it? Or would you change the paradigm so even the smallest risk is unfathomable ... zero-tolerance? "A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it." Max Planck I challenge you to prove Mr. Planck wrong. Humanity cannot wait for any generations to die. Now, I await a call from Mr. Tillersons office, accepting my final invitation to meet for coffee, since Friday, March 20th, was my two-year anniversary in retirement a milestone of sorts. Given that we are running out of time, Phase 4 of my "A Scout is Brave" campaign is about to end. If Mr. Tillerson does not respond affirmative by May 5, I will take steps to meet him in Court. That gives me time to enjoy the cherry blossoms in Washington, DC, while maintaining a presence outside the White House, and participating with the Cowboy and Indian Alliance activities on the Washington Mall during April 22-27. If I hear from Mr. Tillerson and we set a date to meet and discuss my book A Scout is Brave then there will be no reason to file a claim against him in Court one way or another, I am determined to meet Rex Tillerson. Sincerely yours, Doug Grandt
