Drive test tools

ZTE uses Drive Test Solution to acquire received downlink signal level & received quality for GSM system. The test tools are shown below: Data Collection Tool: TEMS investigation 9.0 MS type: K800i, C702 (locked in UMTS except inter-RAT HO test) Sim card( Support voice call, GPRS and EDGE service) FTP server: 210.245.10.110, User name : test, password: nsn-vms Auto answer number: 9224 for post-paid SIM, 900 for pre-paid SIM Analysis tool: Actix analyzer.

The procedures of drive tests as followings:

1.1.1 Voice long call test (Mobile to Auto answer number)

Test Item Test Procedure Voice long call test 1. Select appropriate test route. The test route is same with pre -SWAP test route. 2. TEMS software is used for automatic dial-up. MS is locked in 2G. 3. MS calls 9224/900 iteratively on the test route, set call duration with 90s; set idle time with 10s. If call drop or call access failed, wait for 30s, then dial 9224/900 again. Repeat the above process until end of test. 4. The test route must be finished. The driving speed should be no more than 30km/h. Table 1. Voice long call test

1.1.2 PS FTP DL call test

Test Item Test Procedure PS FTP DL call 1. Select appropriate test route. The test route is same with pre-SWAP test route. 2. TEMS software is used for automatic dial-up. MS locked in 2G. 3. On the test route, MS originate PS service, when success, originates FTP DL service, and download a file whose size is +2 MB. Keep 180s, then MS originates deactivation, idle time 10s, MS originates PS service again, repeat above-mentioned process until end of test. 4. The test route must be finished. The driving speed should be no more than 30km/h. Table 2. PS FTP DL call

1.1.3 PS FTP UL call test

Test Item Test Procedure PS FTP UL call 1. Select appropriate test route. The test route is same with pre-SWAP test route. 2. TEMS software is used for automatic dial-up. MS locked in 2G. 3. On the test route, MS originate PS service, when success,

originates FTP UL service, and download a file whose size is 500 KB. Keep 180s, then MS originates deactivation, idle time 10s, MS originates PS service again, repeat above-mentioned process until end of test. 4. The test route must be finished. 1.1.4 PS Ping test

Test Item Test Procedure PS Ping call 1. Select appropriate test route. The test route is same with pre-SWAP test route. 2. TEMS software is used for automatic dial-up. Data card is locked in 2G. 3. On the test route, data card originate PS service, when success, originates Ping service, packet 32 bytes, number of ping 100, then data card originates deactivation, 10s for idle, data card originates PS Ping service again, repeat above-mentioned process until end of test. 4.
