God's Jewels

By Apostle John Eckhardt, www.johneckhardtministries.com Malachi 3:17 And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my JEWELS; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

God has Jewels. Jewels are valuable, beautiful, and rare. Jewels are special.

Arthur W. Pink (1886-1952) "And they shall be Mine, says the Lord Almighty, in that day when I make up My jewels" (Mal. 3:17). To whom is God here referring? Who are the favored ones whom He terms His "jewels"? The previous verse tells us, "Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name." A twofold description is there given by which the people of God may be identified: they have a reverential awe and profound respect of God's majesty and authority; they have a deep love and adoration for Himevidenced by their thinking upon His name."

God has people that he considers his jewels.

Malachi 3:17 (AMP) And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.

God's jewels are his SPECIAL POSSESSION and PECULIAR TREASURE. They are God's special people. They are his UNIQUE TREASURE.

A treasure is one considered especially precious or valuable.

If you fear the LORD and honor his name, you are God's jewel, his special treasure, his unique possession.

Earthly jewels are carefully guarded by their owners, lest they be lost. The divine Guard will see to it that nothing steals away God's jewels, as declared by the Apostle Paul: "For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." (2Timothy 1:12)
