What kind of document did you collect? This is a photograph of 4 anchor charts hanging in a fourth grade classroom.

What does this document show? This is an image of anchor charts that are hanging in the classroom. The top left anchor chart titled What does the text say? is an organizational technique that teacher the student how to organize their thoughts. This specific organization technique can be applied to theme, plot, character traits, more than one book etc. The list goes on and on. The top right image teaches talking points. It explains what, when, where, why and how to students. This is beneficial when they are reading so they can infer and figure out who is talking in their stories. The bottom left image is a list of rules the class made together for their book clubs. Book clubs take place every day are a group of students split based upon their reading levels. They read as a group and discuss/build the book together. The bottom right image is an anchor chart regarding setting. Setting is something that students will have to pick out during end of grade testing so this anchor chart is a constant reminder of skills/techniques students should do. Reflection: What are your thoughts/opinions about this document? While this isnt a piece of paper document that I collected, it is something that I will hold on to through my years as I become a teacher. This was extremely beneficial to the students. These anchor charts are charts that the students created during reading mini-lessons with the teacher that are now references for them. I think that anchor charts are important in a students educational development. The students are able to be taught a strategy or content and then refer back to it. Students are constantly reminded of good techniques and are guided throughout the day that these strategies become second nature to them. This helps the teacher because they dont have to constantly reteach content. The anchor charts act as test prep.
