In this assessment I conducted a needs assessment analysis on my present place of employment to identify why clients were waiting more

than 15 minutes for a scheduled appointment. After surveying administrative staff, I learned that clinical staff and administrative staff are experiencing miscommunication problems regarding client arrivals for appointments. To resolve this issue, I proposed to utilize the current computer software; however, I asked IT personnel to create an appointment block that will be located by each clients name so administrative staff will have the ability to checkmark this appointment block when a client arrives for an appointment. The clinical staff will have this same scheduling program on their individual computers and will be able to see when an appointment block has been checked (indicating their clients arrival). This appointment block will ensure the client has been checked in and will be seen as soon as possible. This artifact will be an asset to my portfolio because it reflects my abilities to conduct a needs assessment analysis and recommend solutions to a problem or need. Needs assessment analyses can be useful in all workplace situations, and I believe it is necessary to present past assessments for support. From this study I learned that there are several responses to a need or problem in the workplace and that no one view is correct. In the future, I will craft more questions regarding the need or problem and speak with numerous workplace individuals who interact with this need or problem on a regular basis. Then I will request from staff suggestions for improvement and will advance from their instruction.
