Strategic improvements for gross anatomy web-based teaching

Introduction

Gross anatomy is a fundamental component of first- year medical school curriculum, the student have a visual understanding of anatomy based in surgical perspective. The Boom of medical technologies speciality in medical imaging give to the student a universe of posibilities to learn gross anatomy in this way.

Materials and methods

Previous to the research, they had a Little test/survey with the last year students. The tutors present the Project to the students the first day of their anatomy class, in this oportunity the tutors present all the advantages of learn radiological anatomy. The information inside the website of the course was divide in tutorials (33), quizzes (71), Nomals images (49) and anormals images (55). The students were informed that the homepage will be able to use in few days.

The get acces in and aout of the university.

Results

The persons that completed the course online and the survey were 87 of 120 medical students (73%)---(71%). The majority of students were between 22 and 25 years old. The files were helpful to the students: 3.3 (1-4 points). The primary reason students utilized the course files was to review material. The students that utilized the course files because they helped to better understand anatomical was only 66 (76%).

Conclusions

The students feedback to their institution suggested the need for a more organized approach for presenting the radiology component of the first year medical school gross anatomy course.

Analysis

The poblation on the research is Little. The files of the course are less. In some case the course files could not be compatible with all the internet systems. If you want make this research in other university you need have a important financing.

The topic is a current topic.

Represent a important step in medical learning.
