NOTIFICATION No. 1/2000-CENTRAL EXCISE, dated 17-1-2000. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 to 1944), read with sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance) Act, 1957 (58 of 1957), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the pub lic interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Gove rnment of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended in the manner specifie d in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE S.No. Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. 32/99-Central Excise, dated the 8th July, 1999 In the said notification , in the opening paragraph, the words, figures and letters "other than the goods falling under Chapter 24 or heading No. 21.06, of the said First Schedule or th e Second Schedule, as the case may be" shall be omitted. 2. 33/99 - Central Excise, dated the 8th July, 1999 In the said noti fication, in the opening paragraph, the words, figures and letters "other than t he goods falling under Chapter 24 or heading No. 21.06, of the said First Schedu le or the Second Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (1 of 1986), as the case may be" shall be omitted.
