Island of the Blue Dolphins Compare and Contrast By: Gyeong Eun You

In the book, Island of the Blue Dolphins, there are two main characters, Karana and Ramo. These two characters are different but the same in some ways. Karana is focused on her work while Ramo isnt focused and plays mostly when he has to work. Karana is a hard worker and works for her family. In contrast to Karana, Ramo doesnt like working and sits next to Karana while she works. The two of them are both adventurous. Both Karana and Ramo dont have much food on their island. Karana is the only one left in the island and Ramo is too. Karana has to make weapons since she has to eat. For this reason, Karana has to hunt to live. While Karanas canoe is leaking, the wild dogs that killed Ramo surround him.

Karana has dark hair and dark eyes and also Ramo has dark hair and dark eyes! Karana is tall and is old enough to work. In contrast to Karana, Ramo is shorter than Karana and is younger than her too. Ramo is old enough to work but is lazy and he doesnt like to work. As you can see, Karana and Ramo have lots of similarities and differences.
