Thanks so much for getting back to me :) Yeah here are the details (sorry its a bit long winded I'm not great at explaining things!) So the event will held at the auditorium within Edinburgh College's Milton Road campus from about 11-4 on either the 14th, 21st or 28th of March (this will be confirmed at the end of this week or early next week). It will be open the public as well as the students for free. There will be (hopefully!) 4 women from different parts of the music industry there. I already have confirmed Lorraine McCauley (of Lorraine and the Borderlands) to give a musicians point of view and Jennifer McGlone (of Glowarts Glasgow) to give an events/general industry view so I would like someone from like music (I have asked Nicky Carder so just waiting to hear back) so it would be great to have someone from behind the scenes like a journalist or sound engineer etc. There will be female bands from the college playing at an intermission and I am still working out how the talk/q&a panel session part will go! I think that we could choose like three main subjects to discuss between everyone on the stage then let the audience ask questions, does that sound ok? I have never put on such a large event before so I am open to all the advice you have!

The auditorium is free to hire as I used to be a student at Edinburgh College but it means I can't charge for entry to the event. So I have very last minutey put together a gig on the 13th of Feb in order to raise funds to give all the speakers travel expenses, details here https://www.facebook.com/events/229159910600049/ This is all part of my university course as I am writing my themed research project on how the industry has changed for women since the 1950's so tying in my events class seemed like a good idea. On that note, I will be putting out a survey on the same subject soon for my primary research so if any of you have the time to fill one in that would be great. Let me know what you think :)

Just dropping you an email to say thanks for agreeing to come along and speak at my event in March. to Sophie, Jennifer, Lorraine Hey guys! Hope you are all having a good weekend :) Ok so here are my ideas for discussion topics. The event will start at 2pm and finish at 5pm with musical ladies on from half 3 until 4 so I figure 3 of four topics aswell as questions we should be ok? Let me know what you think and give me your ideas especially if there is anything relevant from your area of the industry. Do you feel that compared to the 60's and 70's, the last 10 years have been better for female performers in terms of control and success? Why do you think that there has been such a surge recently in feminism related to the music industry? Why do I respect Beyonce but dislike Katy Perry? They both wear raunchy outfits yet that is what I dislike about Katy, I think she uses her body in a way that pleases men whether as I feel like Beyonce is int trying to impress anyone she just looks good. Something around this or like how beyonce gets called hypocritical for promoting independence then wearing something revealing. How do you win? Maybe something on how american stars like katy, taylor swift, kelly clarkson etc are terrified of the word feminism. Even lady gaga said I'm not a feminist - I, I hail men, I love men.
