What is RAMP? In 2010, Carrington Middle School was recognized by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) as a RAMP School. This award signifies that CMS maintains a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program that aligns with the ASCA national model. Further, as a RAMP school, CMS has proven its ability to successfully work with all students to make a difference in their academic career. CMS school counselors are beginning the reapplication process to renew their status as a RAMP school. The proposal will be submitted in October of 2014. As members of our advisory council, you can help us ensure that a comprehensive school counseling program is maintained at CMS. Please see www.ASCANationalModel.org for more information. Bullying Prevention Efforts: Throughout the month of December, we will be leading classroom guidance lessons for all grade levels. During these lessons, we will inform students about the forms of bullying and the way it affects our students. Our goal is to promote a safe and accepting environment that is intolerant of any form of bullying. Further, we will have a Stand-Up against Bullying Week in which all core and elective classes will incorporate a bullying curriculum into their lessons.
