SMALL GROUPS // PRESENTING MENDELS EXPERIMENT 1. Get into groups of 4. Ms.

Khella may add or remove members from your group. Maximum 1 person per group may have an incomplete brochure.

2. Choose roles. Record who is who a. Choose 1 person to present their brochure to the rest of the group. b. Choose 1 person to be the timekeeper. He/she needs to have a watch/phone/look at the clock and pay CAREFUL attention to time. We will not take extra time for this activity. c. Choose 1 person to be the questioner. d. 3. (4 minutes MAX) The presenter presents! Group members listen respectfully. 4. (6 minutes MAX) Group members evaluate the presenters brochure. a. Each group member gives the presenter one compliment on their brochure b. Group members give the presenters suggestions for improvement of their brochure. Use the checklist given to you yesterday to determine if all required parts are on the brochure and that all information is accurate. i. If you DISAGREE with any of your group members, respectfully say why and give evidence. Ex: I disagree that the F1 generation contained a mix of purple and white flowers. My evidence is that Mendels data shows that the F1 generation was all purple every time. 5. (10 minutes MAX) The questioner asks questions! He/she asks the group about Mendels experiment. Questions can come from the brochure or 8.1. a. Examples: What was the goal of Mendels experiment? Name one reason why Mendel chose to use garden peas. Describe the 1st step of Mendels experiment. b. Each group member must answer at least 1 question.
